In-Home Lou Gehrig’s Disease in Laguna Beach

Lou Gehrig’s Disease, medically termed Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells of the brain and spinal cord that are responsible for the voluntary muscle functioning of the body.  As the disease degenerates the nerve cells, the muscles initially become weaker, shrink in size, the individual can experience involuntary muscle contractions and rigidity, and eventually full dexterity becomes lost, making the easiest activities of daily living become painstakingly burdensome.

At A-1 Home Care Agency, we provide compassionate ALS caregivers for Elderly and Seniors on a 24-hour Live-In Care or Hourly Care basis.  Our Lou Gehrig’s Disease Care service is designed to make activities of daily living as stress-free and doable as possible, without completely robbing your loved one of their independence.
