What is Bel Air?
Bel Air is a neighborhood located on the west side of Los Angeles. The neighborhood is located roughly about 12 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and sits within the Santa Monica Mountains. The community was founded in 1923 by Alphonzo Bell, an American oil multi-millionaire, real estate developer and philanthropist. Bell Air is subdivided into three distinct neighborhoods: East Gate Old Bel Air, West Gate Bel Air, and Upper Bel Air.

Every year since 2008, there is an event named The Bel Air Film Festival, which occurs throughout the entirety of Los Angeles. Another fun place in Bel Air is The Hannah Carter Japanese Garden, which used to be open to the public but is unfortunately temporarily closed.
